See! I'm birthing a mermaid baby!

She has my arms :)

Motivationally Challanged Ramblings of a Pregnant Yogi

You may have noticed how quiet my blog has been lately... I know I have. Everyday I have the intention to write something but lately I've been lethargic, restless and lacking in creative motivation. I am 30 weeks pregnant, but I'm also not working at the moment so I have nothing but free time. I thought I'd be all over blogging and creating during these seemingly endless weeks before my little minnow is born. But lately I find myself in some sort of funk. Hopelessly bored and uninspired.  I'm the kind of person who needs a busy schedule to function at maximum capability. So with all the down time I'm finding it harder and harder to get up and create something.

I think the lack of hot yoga in my life is a big part of it. I miss it terribly. It's ridiculously challenging but always leaves me feeling refreshed, energized and ready to conquer to world. This low impact prenatal yoga I've been doing just isn't the same. Any yoga is good for the soul, but I miss the sweat and racing heart of hot. But I only have 10 weeks left (!) of pregnancy so it's not too bad. I really can not WAIT to be able to start working out again. My body is aching for an intense cardio session on my bike and multiple cleansing hot yoga classes a week. I don't feel like myself without it. I know I won't be able to go as much as I used to after my minnow is born, but I will definitely be making time for it in order to be the best momma I can be. My wonderful husband has committed to being home with minnow for a couple hours every night while I get back into my workout routine. He knows how important fitness is to me, and how much happier and all around BETTER I am at life when I go to hot yoga regularly.

Some people have been telling me about how my priorities will change once I have a baby and that I don't realize how much work a baby is and I won't have time to work out.... which I find kind of insulting. Obviously I know it'll be different to anything I've ever known when the baby comes and my time will be limited. But my time has always been limited and I still managed to fit some sort of exercise into every day. Besides, the more exercise you do the more energy you have! And being a devoted yogi you make time, and live your life with your body in mind. So I really can't see me giving up my whole outlook on health and fitness the second I become a mother. And these same people seem to forget I've been a nanny for the past 4 years... I know EXACTLY how much work a baby is. I have helped raised a dozen babies; I have it down to a science! I am a professional mother after all. :)

I look at my own beautiful momma for inspiration. She just finished a yoga challenge and cleanse this month. She's nearly 50 and looks better than most 30 year olds. She had 3 kids and still always managed to find time to take care of herself. I want to be able to be that same example of vitality and health to my own daughter.

It is entirely possible to return to a fitness regime shortly after pregnancy, you just need to make the time and intention. Doubt me all you want, I'm excited to prove all the naysayers wrong.

But in the meantime... I must find some new way of motivating myself while taking it easy. Life in the slow lane is not that inspiring for my creative process.  I guess I should give myself a break, I am after all, creating every second of every day a HUMAN in my body. Maybe that's where  all my imagination and ideas are going? :)

Fill in The Blank Friday

1.  The love of my life is   my husband Josh .

2.   Falling in love is   never ends. I feel like getting married and having a baby has made us fall in love all over again  .

3.  Marriage is   feeling safe, loved, and valued. But it takes compassion, understanding and compromise .

4. The longest relationship I've ever had was  this one (5 years) .

5. The key to a good relationship is  forgiveness and patience.

6. I feel loved when   I feel like I'm truly being heard and that my opinions are valued  .

7.  My favorite quote about love is   "If you want to be loved, be lovable" .

What Makes a Happy Ness

  •  Sleeping back to back with my biggest kitty mr.fedwell
  • Planting seeds in all our new flower boxes and watering them everyday... then getting SO EXCITED once they start growing
  •  Waking up and reading in bed for an hour before getting out of bed
  • Movies and snuggle days with my love
  • Making my husband's lunch every morning, complete with funny/sexy surprise notes in his Tupperware.
  • Every time I notice my hair has grown more. (One step closer to my goal of being able to wear my hair as a shirt!).
  • My silly little birds in the morning- they're just so freaking excited to see me!
  • My husband reminding me to do my kegals (he really DID read the baby books!) Funny how that one piece of information stood out to him....
  • Just sitting in my daughters room and dreaming about meeting her. It's so clean an un-lived in! I can't wait until she messes it all up.
  • Getting into a freshly made bed with soft, clean Egyptian cotton sheets.

Fill in The Blank Friday

1.  I started my blog because   I was inspired by all the amazing blogs I read daily. Mine is more like an online scrapbook/journal with no particular theme beside my life.

2.   One thing I love seeing on other blogs   is personal photographs. Most blogs (including mine) mainly re-post other people's art/photos/ideas. I like stalking the actual blogger and THEIR photos. I'm creepy like that.

3.  Something I love about blogging   when someone comments! It's rare and it makes me smile. Sometimes I forget that people might actually be reading this, and it's delightful to find out when they do.

4. A favorite blog post of mine is probably  again, any personal photographs. It's the one thing besides my random diary-like entries I have on here that's 100 % ME. Not that there's anything wrong with sharing what inspires us as well :)

5. Something my friends in real life know about me that I've never before mentioned on my blog is   my back story. I usually just up date with new and exciting stories and events. I don't spend a lot of time writing about my history.

6.  My new favorite blogs to read are   Bleubird Vintage, A Beautiful Mess, The Little things We do (where I get the Fill in the blank Friday's from!), closet visit, Tomboy Style, Godsbells, and Rockstar Diaries.... to name only a small portion of my daily reads   .

7.  Some things I tend to avoid doing on my blog are   anything negative, political or religious. I'm fairly neutral in real life on most matters (totally a Pieces thing) and I rather focus on the light, charming, and happy things in life.... at least on my blog.

Belly Update - 27 weeks

Getting more gargantuan by each passing day.

I love visiting closets

Being almost 7 months pregnant really limits my wardrobe choices. I basically live in black leggings, long v-neck t-shirts, a cardigan, and moccasins. It gets kind of boring but I can't seem to desire anything from my clothes other than comfort these days. Especially while on bed rest at home... no point in dressing up for just my kitties. And no matter how many different ways I ask Josh how I look I always get the same answer from him (while not even looking at me) "you're always beautiful". Which is sweet... but not helpful when deciding what to wear. or when fishing for a specific compliment. And whenever I challenge him with "you're not even looking!" he replies "I've been checking you out the whole time".... touche husband. Touche. (LOVE that man).
But as time passes and I'm still in leggings, I can't help but day dream about exciting outfits, skinny jeans and clothes that require a waistline.... sigh. Whenever I'm feeling this way I go to the blog and visit some rad chick's closets.
Here are some of my favourites from today.....
